Asking for your views
What do you want me to write about?
I’m going to take a break from posting during the holidays and will be back in January.
I’ve got two great interviews almost ready to publish and have a few more lined up. My plan is to start a series called “Maybe Your Kid Will Like…” and fill in the blank with the careers and majors that my fascinating and accomplished friends have pursued. The guest will share the first glimmers of his or her academic or professional interest, as they were manifest in middle or high school, so you can see if your kid is showing any those same tendencies. The first in this series is about a friend with a graduate degree in mathematics.
Sometimes, when I encourage a kid to pursue his or her genuine academic interests, I get a blank stare. “But what if I don’t know what I like?” I hope this interview series could help kids discern what they like to think about, so they can lean in that direction.
Before I start any of that work, though, does the “Maybe Your Kid Will Like…” interview series appeal to you?
What else do you want to read more about? Substack cuts me off at five choices; sorry for the bad survey design.
What do you want to read less/nothing about?
Please do email me with any feedback, laura [at] clarkecollegeinsight.com, or add it in the comments below. Especially if the poll design above obscured your true preferences.
Happy holidays to you and your families, and I look forward to writing to you all again in January!
